The results are in…. JMI has received the highest student satisfaction rating out of all Australian higher education institutions!
The Quality Indicators of Learning and Teaching (QILT) Student Experience Survey (SES) report for 2023 has just been released, with JMI receiving a 100% satisfaction rating for “quality of entire educational experience”.
As per the QILT website, “The SES is the only comprehensive survey of current higher education students in Australia. It focuses on aspects of the student experience that are measurable, linked with learning and development outcomes, and potentially able to be influenced by higher education institutions. Information collected in the SES helps higher education institutions and the government improve teaching and learning outcomes for students.”
The 2023 SES surveyed students from 142 Australian higher education institutions, measuring five aspects of the student experience: Skills Development, Peer Engagement, Student Support and Services, and Learning Resources. The survey also provides a satisfaction rating for Quality of Entire Educational Experience.
In the latest 2023 SES Report, JMI has received the highest satisfaction rating for Quality of Entire Educational Experience out of all 142 higher education institutions and has well exceeded the national average score for all five categories of the student experience.
JMI has continually performed well above the national average since participating in the QILT SES since 2017, and has rated within the top 10 institutions over overall educational experience in all years that it has participated in the survey. JMI’s CEO, Nick Quigley, was understandably enthusiastic when hearing of the latest SES Report results.
We’re thrilled to receive such a positive response from our students on their educational experience at JMI. I truly believe these results speak to the quality of our amazing lecturers, support staff and the quality of our course design itself. As a family business, we treat all students and staff like a big extended family, and I feel that this sense of community and belonging is exactly what is required to nurture and develop the future careers of our next generation of jazz musicians.
