Acclaimed guitarist and composer Callum Allardice embarks on Australian tour to present exciting new album.
Callum has earned recognition as a three-time winner of the APRA Composition Competition and as the recipient of the Recorded Music NZ Best Jazz Music Artist award with his band The Jac. His unique voice continues to captivate audiences both at home and abroad.
This tour celebrates his latest quartet album, “Elementa,” a compelling follow-up to his acclaimed album for jazz orchestra and strings, “Cinematic Light Orchestra,” both recorded during his composer residency at Te Kōkī New Zealand School of Music. Drawing influences from Blonde Redhead, Brian Blade, and Terrence Blanchard, the new album is imbued with moody cinematic drama and features folksy, song-like melodies set over rich, sweeping harmony.
Callum is joined by Wellington drummer Hikurangi Schaverien-Kaa, as well as local legends Elliot Parker (bass) and Eden Armstrong (Piano).
