Looking for something different to fill up your September holidays? Why not spend it learning and playing jazz with the masters of jazz music in Brisbane!
JMI will be running its renowned jazz clinics in Spring this year for the very first time! For 3 days during the September holidays (20-22 Sept 2024), you can immerse yourself in a fun and supportive environment learning how to play jazz and improvise with like-minded musicians of all ages.
These clinics are an excellent way to fast-track your development as a jazz musician and caters to all different levels of experience, from complete jazz novices through to jazz afficionados! Each day is spent learning in a group environment, with the focus on spending as much time playing and jamming through jazz repertoire. Students will learn how to practically apply theory to their instrument and develop their jazz language.
Delivered by JMI’s esteemed faculty (rated as having the highest teaching quality in the field of Creative Arts in the QILT Student Experience Survey 2022), students will learn from some of the finest jazz educators and performers in Australia.
JMI’s clinics will consist of masterclasses, ensemble playing and improvisation with a performance by the faculty to end the day. The final day of the clinics will feature a concert open to family and friends to attend in JMI’s very own jazz club, JMI Live. You can check out the 3-day program here.
