A 9-piece band featuring two singers – Steph Larman and Catherine French, 3 horns- Greg Quigley Trombone, Nat (King) Corrigan and Ken Chow Saxophones and 4 rhythm – Jeff Usher on Piano, Murray Donald on Guitar, Nick Maskell on Bass and Joe Rutledge on Drums.
Steph is an accomplished singer who has a busy career gigging around Brisbane while studying at JMI. Catherine is studying at JMI and is making a big impression at these monthly gigs. Greg – we all know who he is !! Nat (King) Corrigan was JMI’s first graduate and continues to play the music he loves. Ken Chow is in 3rd year at JMI and already has a busy time playing at venues around Brisbane. Jeff Usher has a PHD in Music and is very well known around Australia. Nick Maskell graduated from JMI and has a career teaching music at schools in Brisbane. Murray studied at JMI to become an accomplished guitarist. Joe Rutledge is studying 2nd year at JMI and is already gigging at venues around Brisbane. Joe also visited New York recently and it certainly made a huge impression on him. The almost JMI team!!
Great vocals and harmonies with a band that swings playing great jazz standards. A little big band sound to arrangements. The sounds of Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn, Count Basie, Victor Young, Irving Berlin, Cole Porter……… All the music you know and love.
